Leslie Hope - Director/Executive Producer, Buried Treasure


Leslie directed the rom-com A Very Merry Daughter of the Bride, starring Luke Perry and Joanna Garcia, the highly-rated thriller, My Neighbour’s Secret and The Merry In Laws - an oddball Christmas comedy starring George Wendt and Shelley Long, and most recently Christmas on the Bayou with Ed Asner, Hilarie Burton, Randy Travis and Tyler Hilton.

Leslie’s documentary, What I See When I Close My Eyes won several awards and was the official selection of over 30 film festivals. Leslie was honoured to have the Kent Film Festival name The Hope Award for Outstanding Work in Documentary Filmmaking after her and her work. Eyes sold to Moviola,The Short Film Channel, and is presently screening at The American Visionary Arts Museum as part of their exhibit: The Art of Storytelling.

Leslie wrote/directed GAYKEITH, a viral internet hit, which was picked up for distribution by Tricon. She directed The Murdoch Mysteries-Dial M for Murdoch, and Colour Blinded and served as Exec.Producer on The Bling Ring for Dick Clarke Productions. She’s currently in development with X-Treme Medicine a docu-reality series she co-created, and The Killing of Henry James, a period feature to be produced by Suzanne Girard of BBR/FilmArto.

Previous directing work includes development of new works and a re-examination of the classics, for The Wilton Project – a theatre company she co-founded and ran for 10 years as Artistic Director with Charlie Stratton. Recent theater work includes F-Lying: A Fellini Cabaret which she co-created with Roberto Campanella of ProArte Danze for SoulPepper.
